Vinyl Palace is a synth-pop duo formed by Taylor Rizzo and Alfonso Mayen in 2019. The pair make dark, danceable tracks with retro undertones. Taylor and Trezzo work together to create content for her single and album releases.
The song, What’s Harder is about a love that is both obsessive and corruptive. Paralleled by devout religious faith, the religious imagery serves as a metaphor for the kind of blind devotion sometimes experienced in relationships (especially unhealthy ones). Following without understanding, even in darkness, but always with the promise of being reborn. The music video Trezzo created is a visual interpretation of this.
For this 2019 album cover shoot, Trezzo created a surreal, dreamlike environment, incorporating various props to help lean into the unsensible nature of dreams.
